Story: Recovery is a story about a character named Alan Hamilton (David Tenant), head of a building company who gets into a road accident where Alan was hot by a truckfrom behind while trying to call for a taxi home after having a night out with his friends, resulting in a coma. Though he later regains consciousness he also loses every aspect of who he was before the accident both mentally and in most cases physically. Due to his accident, there are many things Alan can no longer acclompish ranging from, dressing himself up to making food. This was pointed out when he attempted to make toast while nearly setting the house in flames. His behaviour has had a drastic change and he is prone to mood swings. He usually ranges from anger to calm to child like to happy in a space of a few seconds. Because of his new behaviour, Alan's family begins to feel a strain in the family and Tricia (Sarah Parish), Alan's Wife begins lose hope that she may have permanently lost her husband's old self and will have to live with his new self despite her best efforts to regain the Old Alan and almost leaving the family.
Opinions: I found the story for this TV Drama saddening in some sense especially after the events of the accident where Alan has had a major change for the worse as well as the effects it has on his Family. The Story is logical but also emotional in some sense, however it is not something that I would use for my short film Idea. The points of sadness That was used in the film gave me some form of insight for an idea of a character's backstory for one of my ideas for the project, however I wouldn't use the same approach that this TV drama has taken since the idea for the project I envisioned doesn't call for it. The storyline is very good in my opinion It was captivating and engaging as if you refuse to switch the channel because, you want to know what happens to the family as well as to Alan. Though it may turn some people off from the Drama and perhaps some people may hate the story, you still can't seem to turn away from it, giving it a small form of addiction.
